Aamir Signs his next movie with Farhan Akhtar

Yet again, our predictions have come true. As per the Mumbai Mirror report on October 23, 2010, Aamir Khan was to sign his next film in 10 days.

The actor has done just that. Aamir has surprised everyone by signing Reema Kagti's new film, which will be produced by Farhan Akhtar. Reema Kagti had made the critically acclaimed film Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd three years ago. Incidentally, Reema's forthcoming project with Aamir will be a suspense drama, a genre Aamir has never explored before.

Our source said, "There has been a lot of speculation about the film Aamir will sign next, especially because it's been more than ten months he hasn't signed one since the release of 3 Idiots. Also, news has been doing the rounds that the actor has taken a break just to read scripts, which have been lying with him since he got busy with Peepli Live.

Some reports suggested that Aamir might sign Aditya Chopra's Dhoom 3 or Anuraag Kashyap's Bombay Dreams or even Karan Johar's next, after the two of them were seen together at various events. In fact, even John Matthew Matthan and Rajkumar Santoshi had made offers to the actor. But Aamir has surprised everyone by signing Reema Kagti's film."

Apparently, Reema has written the script of this film with Zoya Akhtar. And there is an obvious level of comfort that the two women share because there was a time when Reema was assisting Farhan when he and Aamir were working together on Dil Chahta Hai.

Aamir's next with Reema Kagti will supposedly have two leading ladies as well, who are yet to be finalised. The film will be jointly produced by Farhan's and Ritesh Sidhwani's company Excel Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions and will go on floors in February 2011. The makers are looking at an expected release date some time next year.

Farhan Akhtar, who is delighted at the prospects of working with Aamir once again, confirmed the news and said, "It feels great to be collaborating with Aamir a decade after Dil Chahta Hai. We had been hoping do a film together since then and I'm thrilled that it is finally happening with this script."

Seconding Farhan, his partner Ritesh Sidhwani said, "I have been waiting to work with Aamir since Dil Chahta Hai and it's finally happening. It's special this time as we are also producing it together. I can't wait to start filming."

And adding icing to the cake, Aamir too said, "Yes it's true. I found this script written by Reema and Zoya exciting and I am looking forward to working with Ritesh and Farhan once again."

Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto said that she was smitten by her own beauty earlier in life but now doesn't think too much about her good looks.

The Mumbai-born actress, who has been dating her co-star Dev Patel since 2008, was once big-headed about her beauty and used to take compliments too seriously, Contactmusic reported.

"When I was small, a lot of people would say I was a cute chubby little baby, with light blue eyes, and my mum said initially I let it go to my head. But by the time I reached college, I kind of toned it down. It's like a growing-up experience," she said.

The 26-year-old star would now prefer people praising her acting skills rather than the way she looks.

"I don't like that, to be honest. Every time someone tells me, 'You look so beautiful in the film', I don't care! Just tell me if the performance was good. To be honest I still love shopping at H&M and Topshop, because if you really want to be stylish you should be able to mix and match different clothes, put them on yourself and still end up looking like a million bucks," said Pinto.

Actress Gajala, who acted in over 20 films in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam is all set to being her second innings. Sources say that she has been roped in for a key role in JD Chakravarthy’s ‘Money Money More Money’. The film is a sequel to Ram Gopal Varma’s successful comedy entertainers ‘Money’ and ‘Money Money’ directed by Siva Nageswara Rao.

‘Money Money More Money’ is being produced by Raghunath under Simhapuri Talkies Banner. JD Chakravarthi is acting and directing this flick. Veteran comedy star Brahmanandam is playing the hilarious ‘Khan Dada’ role again.

Genelia Slaps a Fan

Orange actress Genelia D'souza has slapped a fan, who tried to touch her during a private function in Vijayawada. She was in city to inaugurate a showroom.

The actress had a bitter experience, when she reached the place. The crowd, which was waiting to see their favourite actress, went crazy and despite tight security, a fan attempted to cross the limits, for which, Genelia reacted quickly by slapping him.

However, Genelia has reportedly not filed any complaint with the police. But cops have arrested him immediately after the incident.

Govinda's Daughter Narmada's debut Movie

Govinda's daughter Narmada Ahuja, whose debut film has been delayed, says the script has been finalised and the project will hit the production stage early next year.

"The status of that project is we have finalised the script. Everything is done and we are now working on it. Most probably the first schedule of the film will go on the floor in January or maximum February," Narmada, 20, told IANS.

The daughter of Bollywood's popular funny man Govinda, Narmada too will start her acting journey with a romantic comedy.

"The film is a young, fresh romantic comedy. Even the production house is not new, but they are coming out with a film after a gap of a few years. That's what made me keen on doing this film. I already have another film lined up after this.

"I can't talk about the project because they will announce the film according to their own convenience. They'll do that probably at the end of this year," said the youngster who learnt the ropes of acting at the London Film Institute.

When asked about her co-actor in the film, Narmada said: "All I can say is that my co-star in the film is not a newcomer. I can't reveal any other detail."

She says her father's suggestions helped her in making up her mind about her career.

"Every father gives tips to their kids before they start their profession. My father too gave me a couple of tips. The most important thing that he told me was that no matter what you do, do it with your full heart; give it your 500 percent; and do it only if you are passionate about it because it shows on camera if you are not really into your work.

"That's one thing that really made me focussed about my career and made me more professional about it," said Narmada.

Govinda and Salman back together

The persistent cold war between the two Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Govinda has reportedly reached the final stages and is expected to come to a close shortly and the entire credit goes to the Bollywood director David Dhawan who made many a movie with the twosome. David is all set to make the sequel to the film Partner in which Govinda and Salman Khan played the lead. The project, tentatively titled, Partner 2 could never hit the floors unless the fissure between the duo is healed. Thus the intervention of David Dhawan was necessary in the course at least for the period of completion of the pet project.

When asked about this, David Dhawan stated that he was highly bothered about the apparent bad terms between Salman Khan and Govinda. David added saying that both of them are his bosom friends without whom he couldn't have made many hit films.
