Mallika Sherawat demands for high Pay

Call it the after effects of all the adulation and attention she has been receiving from Hollywood, because if the buzz in the industry is to go by, Mallika Sherawat is demanding a whopping sum for doing an advertisement for a jewellery brand.

From what we hear, a leading jewellery brand recently approached Mallika to be its brand ambassador. But the siren quoted a huge sum of money - Rs. 10 crore, it is believed - for her services.

According to a source, given the fact that Mallika has been able to make her mark in Hollywood and has two American films coming up - director Jennifer Lynch’s Hissss and William Dear’s Love Barack - she feels she is in a position to lift a brand’s image to the international level. Hence the hike in her fee.

This fact isn’t amiss on the jewellery brand as well. For we learn that the brand is seriously considering Mallika’s demand for a fatter pay cheque.

Mamta Mohandas to sing again

Mamta Mohandas is going to sing a song for Prithviraj’s B Unnikrishnan directed Thriller, under the baton of Tamil music director Dharan.

The film is based on the recent controversial Paul Muthoot murder case which shocked Kerala. Prithviraj plays ACP Niranjan who is put in charge of the investigation. The others in the cast are Jagathy, Siddiq, Lalu Alex and Saikumar

Though no leading lady has been signed for the film, Mamta may do a cameo with the song she sings to be picturised on her. Director Unnikrishnan is planning a music video for the film’s television promotion.

Mandira Bedi was in town on Friday to inaugurate the new showroom of Gaja Heritage, which is the brainchild of Sumona Parekh of Shree Ganesh Jewellers.

There was an informal fashion show to display the creations at Galaxy, The Park, where Mandira Bedi turned heads as the showstopper. She looked stunning in a red off-shoulder dress teamed with a neckpiece inspired by Indus Valley and Harappa in coral, ruby and uncut diamonds. “Each piece of our jewellery is modern with a heritage feel.

When one wears these creations, it seems that each piece has tumbled out of our great grandma’s jewellery box,” said Sumona. Mandira couldn’t stop cheering the models as they flaunted exclusively handcrafted jewellery, which were simple yet eyecatching. The best part of these jewellery pieces are that they are contemporary and have been reworked on older ideas. The actor-anchor who happily posed for the shutterbugs said, “I love coming to Kolkata and please don’t miss my exquisite neckpiece!”

Manisha Koirala to make a Big Come back

Actress Manisha Koirala, who recently tied the knot with Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal, has signed her first project where she will be playing the role of a politician.

"It's a women oriented film where she plays the role of a politician. The film is being made under the banner of Yograj Cinevista. Other cast and crew are under finalisation," a statement from the producer said.

The actress, who is the grand daughter of first elected Prime Minister of Nepal B P Koirala, says she always wanted to play the role of a politician.

"I am glad Yograj Cinevista offered me this role and I am looking forward to be playing this role. After marriage I wanted a different and challenging role which I have got," the statement quoted Manisha as saying.

The music of Manas Rishi Productions' Alladista starring Udaykiran, Meera Jasmine has been released by Junglee Muisc. The story is by Karunanidhi, honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Balisrirangam is the director and K. Rohit, the producer.

Udaykiran plays a forest officer, a few songs were shot in New Zealand. The music is by Deva. There is a special song on Lakshmi Rai and Lawrence too. Rambha plays a special role. Film will be out in June. Dialogues by Venkat Malluri, songs by Vennalakanti, photography by Vijay Raghavan.
